Our Mehndi Teardrops Anklet made of Sterling Silver hangs beautifully on the ankle, showcasing three small decorative peaks with a lovely teardrop shape.
The word 'Mehndi' or 'Mehendi' is used to describe the henna plant in Hindi and therefore represents the art of henna painting and the various designs used. Henna has been used for centuries for beautification and conditioning, and is the process whereby decorative designs are created on a person's body using a special paste made from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant. It is used as in celebratory rituals from North Africa, the Middle East, as well as in India, and is commonly applied on the hands or feet. It has been adopted in Western society as a decorative art of creative expression using other application colours such as silver or white.
